Description

Smart pressure transmitters are the backbone of process measurement in any plant. They convert gauge or absolute process pressure into a stable 4–20 mA signal with HART digital communication, giving the control system an accurate, real-time picture of the process. Hamoon supplies complete transmitter families from leading international manufacturers, with piezoresistive or capacitive sensing technology, wide rangeability and configurable units, damping and range.

Wetted parts are available in SS316L, Hastelloy C-276, Monel or tantalum to suit corrosive and sour services, and remote diaphragm seals can be added for hot, viscous or hygienic media. Flameproof and intrinsically safe versions with ATEX and IECEx approvals, as well as SIL 2/3-capable models, are available for hazardous areas and safety instrumented functions.

Typical applications

  • Pipeline, separator and compressor pressure monitoring in oil and gas
  • Reactor and column pressure control in petrochemical plants
  • Boiler drum, steam header and feedwater pressure in power plants
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems in steel, cement and mining

Hamoon engineers will help you select the right range, material, process connection and certification for your service. Send us your process data to receive a technical proposal and request a quote.

Key points when selecting a Smart Pressure Transmitter

  • Choose gauge or absolute measurement and a range that puts normal operating pressure near mid-span.
  • Select wetted materials for the process fluid; NACE MR0175 materials are mandatory for sour gas.
  • For hazardous areas, specify an ATEX or IECEx approval that matches the zone and gas group.
  • For safety instrumented functions, order a SIL 2/3-certified model together with a suitable manifold.

Smart Pressure Transmitter — frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a pressure transmitter and a pressure gauge?

A gauge only displays pressure locally, whereas a transmitter converts it into a 4–20 mA or digital signal so the control system (DCS/PLC) can monitor, record and control it.

What information is needed to quote a pressure transmitter?

Send the pressure range, fluid, process temperature, connection type, output protocol, hazardous-area approval and preferred brand, and Hamoon engineers will propose the right model and price.
