Description

A multifunction process calibrator combines several test instruments in one rugged handheld device, allowing instrument technicians to measure and source electrical, temperature and pressure signals in the field. With a single tool, users can simulate RTDs and thermocouples, source or measure 4–20 mA loops, supply loop power, measure pressure with external modules and check switches. Documenting models record as-found and as-left results automatically and transfer them to calibration management software, reducing paperwork and supporting ISO 9001 and audit requirements.

Advanced versions include HART communication, allowing technicians to read and trim smart transmitters directly from the calibrator. Hamoon supplies process calibrators from world-renowned manufacturers together with pressure modules, hand pumps, test leads and accredited calibration certificates.

Typical applications

  • Calibration of pressure, temperature and DP transmitters
  • Loop checks and commissioning of control systems
  • Maintenance of safety instrumented functions and switches
  • Preventive maintenance programmes in plants of all kinds

Key points when selecting a Multifunction Documenting Process Calibrator

  • List the required functions (mA, volts, RTD, thermocouple, pressure, frequency) and their accuracies.
  • If you maintain HART transmitters, choose a model with HART communication and automatic documentation.
  • Order pressure modules that cover your working ranges.
  • Make sure the calibrator ships with a valid, traceable calibration certificate.

Multifunction Documenting Process Calibrator — frequently asked questions

What is a documenting calibrator?

It stores as-found/as-left results automatically and uploads them to calibration-management software, eliminating manual errors.

How often should the calibrator itself be calibrated?

Usually once a year in an accredited reference laboratory to keep measurements traceable.
